AI Leadership Champion Programmes

Whether you're setting AI strategy, evaluating procurement risk, or leading the rollout across your teams, this Level 5 apprenticeship gives leaders the practical tools to do it properly. Three units cover the full lifecycle: AI Strategy and Opportunity (AU0009), AI Adoption, Procurement and Governance (AU0010), and AI Delivery and Organisational Transformation (AU0011). Take one unit or all three as a pathway.

Learners who complete all three units get a fully funded CMI Level 5 Award, Leading AI Transformation pathway, added on with one extra webinar and a single post-unit report built from their existing deliverable pack, no repetition, no extra cost.

30 hours of synchronous delivery per unit across a 4-week period. Each unit includes live webinars followed by applied practice sessions tied to your own organisational context, 1:1 coaching sessions, and a live guest speaker every week from education. All guest sessions are recorded and hosted on the learning platform.

These units are designed for leaders building AI strategy and making the business case for adoption, leaders evaluating AI solutions and managing procurement risk, and leaders overseeing implementation who need to manage workforce and regulatory risk. Two sector strands available: Education and Business.

Four weeks per unit. Units can be taken individually or as a full three-unit pathway.

We provide ongoing support throughout your apprenticeship journey. Our dedicated team is available to assist you with any queries or challenges you may face. We believe in empowering our learners to achieve their best.

Learners get a live guest speaker every week, one expert practitioner per unit per week, 12 across the full pathway, recorded for on-demand access. Plus self-paced asynchronous enrichment activities weekly, including structured tools and templates that build directly into the learner's deliverable pack, a viability assessment template, governance framework tool and risk register among them.

Two mandatory stages. First, a scenario-based Skills Test at the end of each unit, open book, 90 minutes, sector-specific, assessing professional judgement rather than recall. A pass is required before the unit is marked complete. Second, a Joint Discussion held after the skills test is passed: a structured live session between learner, employer and the Primary Goal team. The learner presents specific examples of knowledge and skills applied in role, followed by employer and PG discussion, then formal employer validation. An optional CPD discussion on next steps can follow. Learners completing all three units can take a combined session.
