Congratulations to Rafid who has now passed three of the five exams of his Level 3 apprenticeship. Rafid is a Primary Goal apprentice working for Sonar IT, based in South West London. The company deliver remote IT support to a wide range of businesses. Rafid provides first line support helping clients with password resets, and Office 365 and Google Workspace queries

Rafid said: “I’ve always been in to IT, I did Computer Science at school but it was the IT that really interested me. I did a traineeship with an IT business and really enjoyed the hardware side of things. I was searching for an apprenticeship and found Primary Goal, applied and got this position.  I’m glad I’ve passed my first exam.”

Rafid will now move on to the next module of his apprenticeship, and has another two exams to come over the next few months. After that he will have a choice of what to do next.

He added: “I’m not sure what I want to do after my Level 3 apprenticeship, I’ll see what my options are but I might do a Level 4 apprenticeship with Primary Goal or maybe get a full time IT support job. I’d definitely recommend a Primary Goal apprenticeship to anyone wanting to get in to IT.”

Michelle Phipps, Rafid’s IT Work Based Coach, said: “We’re so proud of Rafid, we’ve been working on different techniques for revision to help him to pass his exams, and he had some fantastic ideas of his own to succeed in his exams too.  All of our apprentices receive individual support and this is tailored to their individual needs and situation.

“Also across all of our Primary Goal apprentices, around 20% have learning disabilities and we can make provision such as extra time in exams where needed. If anyone is worried about any aspects of an apprenticeship and how they might deal with the work, the learning, or the exams, please get in touch and have a chat as there’s always a way we can provide help and support.”
